TSV and other delimited files
Tab, semicolon and pipe separated files import the same way as CSV. The delimiter is detected, so you do not choose it.
How detection works
Azmaval looks at the first lines and picks the delimiter that gives a consistent column count: comma, tab, semicolon or pipe. A comma inside a quoted cell does not confuse a tab-separated file.
Why TSV
Tab-separated files are the usual format for corpora and for text that contains commas, such as Persian, Pashto and Arabic sentences. They also copy cleanly out of a spreadsheet: select cells, copy, and paste into the import box.
A file that works
The options column is detected as a list of choices and becomes the options of a pick-one question for each row.
sentence options
ته ځې؟ ta|tə
دا څه دي؟ x|y|zLimits
The limits are the same as for CSV: 25 MB and 20,000 rows. Pasting from a spreadsheet counts toward the same cap.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste instead of uploading a file?
Yes. Paste straight from a spreadsheet and the tab delimiter is detected.
What if my file uses a different delimiter?
Semicolons and pipes are detected too. For anything else, convert to CSV or JSON Lines.
